Please Be Aware of Automated Phone Message Attacks! ABVFCU has recently recieved reports of Pre-recorded Phone Messages being delivered to random credit union members with the warning that their debit cards have been closed.
When the member calls the telephone number provided by the fraudsters they hear a recording that requests a 16-digit card number and PIN. Please Do Not Call the Numbers! The matter is under investigation by the appropriate authorities.
For your security, ABVFCU will NOT email or text you, or use a pre-recorded message to contact you requesting any type of account information unless you have contacted us first.. If you receive any correspondence requesting information about your account, please notify the credit union directly. Do Not respond to the correspondence.
Please Be Aware of SMiShing! ABVFCU has recently recieved reports of SMiShing (also known as text phishing) impacting cardholders of financial institutions located primarily in the eastern region of the U.S.
SMiShing is a type of social engineering that uses cell phone text messages to persuade victims to provide personal information such as card number, CVV2, and PINs. The text message may contain either a website or more commonly, a phone number that connects to an automated voice response system, which then asks for personal information.
For your security, ABVFCU will NOT email or text you or contact you requesting any type of account information unless you have contacted us first.. If you receive any correspondence requesting information about your account, please notify the credit union directly. Do Not respond to the correspondence.
